Real ones know that anytime Selena Gomez posts on Instagram, you stop what you’re doing. It’s a treat! We should be grateful! She doesn’t post personal moments often unless it’s tied to Rare Beauty, a campaign, or a collaboration—basically anything work-related. So when she recently dropped a photo dump of her life, I was immediately locked in. I was scrolling through, smiling, half-hoping for a few cute, romantic candid snapshots with husband Benny Blanco—but I couldn’t help fixating on the overalls she wore in the very first photo. They’re supremely chic. They have just the right amount of bagginess and are the perfect denim wash. Oh, and it turns out they’re from Free People.
I immediately went to the site when I realized the overalls weren’t designer or a one-of-a-kind vintage piece. Turns out, they’re something I could realistically buy, not just admire from afar! Even better, they’re from one of my favorite brands. And somehow… they’re still in stock.
Inspired by the brand’s viral Good Luck Barrel Jeans , Free People took that same silhouette and reworked it into an overalls version. The ever-popular barrel shape is baggy through the leg and then tapers in at the ankle, creating a relaxed and cool silhouette.
This pair features all the classic overall details too: a front bib pocket, side pockets, and adjustable straps. A timeless denim piece just with a twist. Plus, they come in petite, regular, and tall inseams, which honestly sealed the deal for me as someone under five feet!
I’m planning on copying Selena’s outfit exactly as she wore it—white tank, black skinny sunglasses, and slippers. It’s basically the perfect mix of comfy and put-together. Ahem, and of course I had to look up the exact book she was reading, too, because why not go full twin with Sel? I’ll be taking it a step further by adding the same self-help book to my Amazon cart (she was reading Boundaries, FYI). She’s really coming through with the recommendations on all fronts!!
